The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed Ebenezer Appiah  Forson as the new Muncipal Chief Executive for the Upper Denkyira  East  Municipal Assembly in the  Central Region.

The appointment is in accordance with article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, Act 936.

The President ordered the Central Regional Minister to collaborate with the Regional Electoral Commission to conduct the confirmation process of the nominated Chief Executive.

Appiah Forson is currently the constituency Deputy Youth  Organiser for the ruling New Patriotic Party.

Appiah Forson was nominated among other competitors including Isaac Awuah
Baffuor Apenteng Nyamekye,Kwabena Agyarkoh
George Osei Nyarko,Charles Adu-Poku
Ebenezer Forson Appiah,Richmond Duodu
Charles Afari-Mensah,Peter Kofi Quaicoe and
Kwame Owusu Abrokwa.

The former MCE Hon. Isaac Awuah was dethroned due to his poor performance in office as well as poor interpersonal relationship among his own constituency.
