Former President John Dramani Mahama and some enthusiastic members of the Democratic National Congress (NDC) have joined the family of the late Lionel Kukondap Molbila to mourn him.
Mr. Mobila was born in Tongo, Shiite, in the Upper East region of Ghana in 1935, and died on August 2, 2021 at Kolb University Hospital. On Monday, August 9, 2021, the DanSoman Sea Star Catholic Church held a special memorial mass in Accra to celebrate the death of the former politician for a week.
The party was also received by participants and relatives of the insurance industry, who came from afar to pay tribute to the former managing director of Insurance of the National Insurance Company (SIC).
The parish priest, Fr. Albert Gyenapin, reiterated in his sermon that the world needs to live in love.”Now everything is about me and not about us; many young people, especially Christians, have abandoned their relatives or parents and have let them suffer in their later years. This situation does not describe the character of a good Christian,” he urged. He asked all young people to pay special attention to the relationships in which they have suffered in one way or another in their lives.
The late Mobila received the prestigious “Walter Medal Officer” award. Under the leadership of former First Republic President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah (Kwame Nkrumah), he served as the district commissioner of the present-day Upper East Side (Nandom), and once again served as the late Jerry John Rollins (Jerry John Rollins). John Rawlings).
The late NDC stalwart held many respected positions in the insurance industry and government. After the coup, he was appointed as a member of the then National Insurance Company(now SIC) in 1967. Due to his hard work, he was promoted to the company’s managing director.
He has also served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Consolidated Diamonds, Akwatia, Ghana Supply Commission, Ghana Reinsurance, National Insurance Commission, a member of the Social Security and Insurance Trust, and the President of Trust Hospital. Mr. Mobila is also the Chairman of the West African Insurance Companies Association and the Ghana Insurance Companies Association.
After retirement, he was appointed as the head of Phoenix Insurance Company and worked there for two years. His wife Florence Azumah Mobila and four children (two men and two women) survived. According to family members, the final funeral will take place on an unannounced date in November this year.
